Nepal-USA Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NUSACCI) 22nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on March 16, 2022. It was divided into two parts. The first-half contains business sessions and second half as a formal inaugural session.
Highlights of the Business Session:
i. President delivered welcome address
ii. General Secretary presented annual report. It covers NUSACCI activities over the years and planned activities for the forthcoming years
iii. Treasurer presented audited balance sheet for approval
iv. Business session also deliberated on future activities of NUSACCI
v. Election New Executive Board for two years
The chief guest of the formal inaugural session Hon. Gyenendra Bahadur Karki inaugurated the 22nd AGM of NUSACCI. The guest of honor, Mr. Manuel P. Micaller, Charge d’ Affairs, US Embassy was also present at the occasion .
Highlights of the Formal Inaugural Session:
i. President delivered welcome address
ii. Mr. Manuel P. Micaller, Charge d’ Affairs, US Embassy delivered remarks. He highlighted the role played by NUSACCI for the mutual benefits to both countries.
iii. Commended NUSACCI stance on MCC compact ratification from the parliament
iv. Stressed the need of political stability in Nepal as there is a ample scope for bringing investment in the areas of trade, hydro power and tourism.
v. Hon. Minister handed over letter of appointment to Mr. Pralhad KC as NUSACCI Honorary US Representative.
vi. Hon. Minister addressed the inaugural session. Appreciated the role played by NUSACCI for further strengthening bilateral ties between two countries. He mentioned GON has no problem for implementing the trade and investment work plan between two countries.
vii. Election officer announced the names of the newly elected members
viii. Hon. Minister facilitated the newly elected members wearing a shawl and extended congratulations for their successful tenure.
ix. Vice president delivered vote of thanks
Former Nepalese Ambassadors to USA, Former Commerce Secretary, representatives from Ministry of Commerce, TEPC, FNCCI, NCC, US Embassy, journalists/media house and NUSACCI members attended the program.
